This case study explores how our client, a leading FMI in the industry, tackled the mounting pressure of regulatory changes and the need for seamless client integration with existing and new customers across Europe.

Regulatory Pressures: A high volume of regulatory mandates placed pressure on our client’s customers and drove a spike in regulatory change projects for our client’s integration team. Specifically, EMIR Refit by ESMA which impacted global clients reporting to this jurisdiction.


Supporting Growth: An outperforming sales team led to a large book of work to service new client integrations that had the integration team at full capacity.


Language Proficiency Requirement: With increased sales across the European region, client demand for European language skills increased to better serve their customers.

Strategic Resource Blend: To address the challenges, a strategic blend of integration specialists and regulatory domain experts was identified as crucial.


Tailored Team Composition: A team of three operations consultants, boasting 2 to 15 years of experience in Capital Markets and Regulatory affairs, was assembled. Importantly, they possessed between them customer facing skills across both integration, regulatory knowledge, and fluency in European languages, specifically Spanish and Italian.


Bespoke Process Design: Collaborating closely with our client, a tailored selection process was designed, incorporating logical and technical assessments to ensure the right expertise was integrated into the team.


Pre-engagement Training: Pre-engagement training sessions were conducted to equip consultants with in-depth knowledge of our client’s business, domain, and culture, ensuring immediate impact from day one and a focus of best-practice when performing the role.


Dedicated Support Team: Ongoing pastoral care and learning & development planning provided continuous support to our consulting team whilst on the engagement.
