Our Leadership Team


Karl Wolohan

Managing Partner

Karl has been in Financial Services for over 25 years. He started his career in Investment Banking (Citi, DRKW) where he spent 6 years. During this time, he was involved in system implementation for core account management, transaction control and financial compliance functions.

 

Karl spent the next 16 years at Markit (subsequently IHS Markit/S&P Global) where he was MD, Global Head of Operations and acting COO for the MarkitSERV business. In this role, Karl was responsible for building and running robust and efficient Operations for FCA regulated critical market infrastructure services and was a board member and director of the regulated entity. He also chaired industry working groups around Credit market transformation.

 

Karl formed Oxygen Consulting to champion the function of Operations and the importance of Operational Excellence to our industry & individual business success via delivery of our services. Building a culture of curiosity, mastery and integrity were additional goals.


Declan Murphy

Director

Declan has a background in Financial Services with a technology influence. He began his career working in FX Operations servicing Private, Corporate & Institutional clients in buying & sending currency around the world. Whilst in this role Declan was also responsible for sprint planning & UAT testing in the roll out of a new internal CRM. Following this he moved to MarkitSERV (IHS Markit), a major Financial Data & Technology company working as a Senior Implementation Specialist servicing and supporting the G15 banks & Investment Managers in onboarding to a wide range of platforms and services as well as assisting with the implementation, testing & Go-Live support of a new major matching, clearing & reporting platform for the OTC Derivatives industry. 


With a passion for building client relationships and ensuring customers use services to their fullest, his role expanded and was a part of launching a new team in Customer Success where he focussed particularly on solutions in the Rates & Credit asset classes and areas, clients could de-risk and optimise processes.


Declan is passionate about Motorsport and frequently travels to racetracks near and far, for a vast array of Formula & Endurance racing. He enjoys all of what top-level motorsport requires! Good strategy, cutting-edge engineering & team spirit. It gripped him from the age of 9 and he identifies strongly with the relentless pursuit of excellence that encompasses the sport. It never stands still, pursuing gains to fractions of seconds, and is the pinnacle of team competition.
